I am setting up some users with your chat plugin and noticed that
users have to manually add all other users on the domain. Kind of a
pain. I see you have a distribution list option, but what about a
GAL option? I think by default, there is should be an option to
include all members in a domain (and not have to redo it every time a new user is added to the domain).

Hello Macscr,

This feature has been rejected by the R&D team due to due to the limited benefits against possible inconveniences in client use and technical difficulties (e.g. "old-way" galsync vs "galsync account").

The official and suggested way to manage "batch" buddy list management is through Distribution Lists.

My personal suggestion would be to create a hidden-from-gal distribution list containing all the users in a domain, using the "connect group" feature each time a new user is added. This is also fairly easy to script and schedule for execution once a day - I can provide a sample script if you need.

Furthermore, while this feature is not really optimized right now and can take quite some time to complete on lists with 150-200 members, it will be greatly improved with the new ZeXtras Chat server (the one with XMPP support).

Have a nice day,
the ZeXtras Team
